Employee Training Programs | Industry Specific Training Programs

Training reduces employee turnover, improves employee morale, enhances performance and minimizes liability exposure. The Securatex Training Academy offers all professional security officers and supervisors extensive training and development programs. Our training facility boasts a faculty with over 38 years of combined experience in Security and Law Enforcement. In addition, we are able to draw on the expertise of recognized professionals in the security and safety field for additional training when required. Courses offered span the entire training spectrum from state mandated programs to staff development, client specific, site specific, and industry specific programs, as well as quarterly seminars presented to our clients and other security professionals on a variety of security related topics.

Our proactive training program includes intensive instruction on those topics needed to insure professional performance in the field. Topics include: public and human relations, patrol procedures, fire and disaster response, recognition of safety risks, report writing, legal issues, civil v. criminal law, communication skills and crime prevention techniques.

We recognize that each location has its own personality and unique requirements. For this reason, under the direction of the Academy, all newly assigned security officers receive on-the-job training conducted by experienced personnel and specifically designed for each client based upon their specifications, job complexity and level of responsibility. Upon completion of this orientation, new officers are required to satisfy proficiency standards for their site.

For continuing education and staff development, we have instituted a career and supervisory course curriculum, consisting of Intermediate, Advanced and Supervisory courses. In addition, Securatex offers its officers assigned to Hospitals and Museums specific training to meet the rigorous challenges and requirements faced by officers assigned to these areas. Every staff member selected for a position of responsibility from Supervisor to Regional Manager receives customized training in the duties and responsibilities of that position, with the core of that training based on the comprehensive manual we have developed for each level of supervision.

The keystone of the Academy is our expertise and our ability to draw upon the experience of the many professionals in our organization, coupled with our library of training materials, including over 200 professionally produced training videos on a myriad of security, safety and management related subjects, as well as numerous security manuals and textbooks for use as reference materials.

20 — Hour Basic Training Certification Course
Our State of Illinois approved facility was established to comply with the training requirements of Illinois’ Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security and Locksmith Act of 1993, which requires a minimum of 20 hours of classroom training. This program provides security officers with the fundamentals of security as outlined in the Act. The Academy provides this training to our own officers, as well as to organizations and companies who wish to certify or train their own officers but do not have the facilities or resources to do so in-house.
